Creating a well-designed landing page is a vital, but oftentimes, time-consuming experience. Crafting the perfect blend of visuals, text, and layout to attract potential clients and customers requires both creativity and technical know-how and if you’ve ever done it yourself, you know you can spend hours in a website builder futzing over font size and icons rather than focusing on your core business.

But with Gamma, generating a professional and engaging landing page is now relatively effortless. In this tutorial, we'll walk you through the process of using Gamma to create a modern-looking landing page for a freelance designer from a single prompt.

By the end of this tutorial, you'll have a polished landing page ready to attract and impress potential clients, all created in a fraction of the time.

Here are the steps we’ll follow:

  • Generate a website outline with a prompt
  • Define your site sections and theme
  • Edit your website content and publish

Let’s dive in.

Step 1: Generate a website outline with a prompt

To get started, create a free account with Gamma and select the “Create new AI” button at the top of the app dashboard.

This will enter you into Gamma’s design-builder wizard. We’re going to select the “Generate” option on this screen, as we’ll be generating our landing page from a single prompt.

Now, we can enter in our prompt. You do not need to go overboard with the prompt in the Gamma website generator. A simple prompt can create a high-quality website.

We’re going to prompt Gamma to generate a landing page for a freelance graphic designer. Make sure to select the “Website” option above the prompt text box.

Sample prompt:

[Insert page type] for [insert your use case].

Step 2: Define your site sections and theme

After you’ve entered your prompt, Gamma will generate a landing page outline for you. There are three steps you can take at this stage:

  • Refine your prompt: If you don’t like the generated outline, you can refine your prompt and re-generate the outline.
  • Manually update the outline: You can rearrange, remove, or edit the landing page outline via the outline cards.
  • Add/remove cards: Cards are synonymous with landing page sections. You can add or remove cards to update the number of sections of your landing page via the card selector at the top of the page.

Once you’re happy with your outline, click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Finally, you can select a theme for your landing page. We’re going to go with a black and neon-yellow theme. If you end up not liking your theme, don’t worry, you can change it later. Once you’ve selected your theme, click the “Generate” button.

Step 3: Edit your website content and publish

Now, the fun part! In the Gamma website editor, your landing page will come to life. It should take less than a minute for the landing page to generate.

You can edit any component on the landing page by clicking on the respective component on the page. For instance, we’ll add a URL link to our portfolio by clicking on the “Explore My Work” button.

Once you’re satisfied with your landing page, you can publish it by clicking the “Publish” button in the top right corner of the editor. Gamma will host your landing page on a custom Gamma subdomain.
